Through water and fire, He is with us.

Isaiah 43:2
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze."

In Times of Trouble

I don't know how you have been feeling through this whole pandemic but I have definitely felt in times of trouble.
I feel safe at home, where I can control what is going on, but I often feel stressed and worried when I have to go out. Shopping has become tense instead of routine or even enjoyable. Meeting friends takes planning and preparation rather than an impulsive trip to a coffee shop.

God's Promise

In difficult times the bible reminds us that God is there when we need him. He will not let our situations overcome us.
Imagine a stormy sea as a picture of life. The waves will not pull you from the boat, Jesus is there to calm the storm or to give you a way to cope with it.
It has been said that though everyone is in the same storm, we all have a different boat. Each person is experiencing the storm in their own way and will be troubled by different aspects. But God is there no matter what.

SO whether you see more storms ahead or fire that tries to burn you, He is there when you call, ready to offer reassurance and guidance.

 This image from Pinterest shows beautiful fire and water flags to wave. Could you be inspired to make your own flags or paintings to remember that God is always with you?

🌊 How about some water play, trying to make waves and a storm? Maybe best to do outside, you don't want to cover the whole bathroom in water!

💦 Do you know the song Row, row, row the boat? Did you know there are lots of verses? We sing a few at toddler group - crocodile, lion, polar bear, splish splash - perhaps you can find more verses or even try to make up your own. Could you make up a verse to remind us of Jesus calming the storm? 🎵

Final Note

I pray that you will find calm waters and ways to manage the hard times. I pray you will feel God close to you and know His presence when you need it most.

God Bless you all

Praise today

  What is Praise? The Oxford dictionary tell us that praise is expressing approval for someone or something or showing respect and gratitude, particularly towards God. Other words that can mean the same (synonyms) are worship, glory, exalt, honour. We tell children 'well done' when we are pleased with them.  We praise God because of who He is and what He has done.  How do we praise? We use songs and hymns in church to help us praise. Whilst we aren't at church there are loads of resources online, particularly YouTube. 🎜🎜🎝🎜🎜 These songs are good to remind us of all the amazing things God has done and who He is. King of Kings, Faithful One, Almighty, Saviour, and so many other names. Many people find this the easiest way to express these ideas.  But we don't have to sing to praise! Maybe you are artistic and creative. The Garden of Eden Rainbow in the garden The first picture was made at church in our Sunday school, Sunday Jam, and is a picture of the Garden of Ed...

Old Testament Fun

Old Testament Activity The Bible is divided into two big parts, the Old and New Testaments. These are then divided into books.  Old Testament Activity Ideas There are some very strange names in the Old Testament, including some of the titles of the books. Which is the most normal to you and which the most peculiar? That might be different for someone from a different country. I hope you have fun with the activities.
Choose Your Words Carefully Have you ever been upset by something someone has said to you. Or maybe it was the way it was said that hurt you. Remember that as you speak to others. Choose words that are caring and be careful to not be mean. Because, if kind words are sweet like honey, mean words are like thorns. They dig in and hurt when you say them, and they keep hurting for sometime afterwards too. Kind words So what would be kind things to say?  Complements about something someone has done, made or said. Or grown, baked, drawn, mended . . . the list could go on forever Or that you like something they are wearing. This can be hard and against our natural inclination. I see people wearing something cool but I'm not brave enough to say, which is a shame because I feel good when someone says something to me. 👕    👠    👟    👖    👗 It could be caring words asking how someone is or offering help when it is needed.
