Time to say goodbye

 The End

A funny way to start I know but this is my last blog for this page. After 16 years at Pershore Baptist Church I am stepping down as the Children's worker.

What an amazing time I have had.

We have run so many events and activities over the past decade and a half and I have met soooooo many families and children that I have lost count, and definitely forgotten a lot of names.

Blessed

When we moved to Pershore I wasn't sure what the future held. I was pregnant and not working, and I didn't know anyone in town.
But I joined the church and soon made friends.

When we began Little Fishes, little did I know I would still be involved in the Children's work this many years later.

God has blessed me and allowed me to grow and develop in this ministry. He has given me the chance to get to know the people and town of Pershore and to be a part of your lives.

Thank you

I cannot really begin to say a proper thank you to everyone who has been a part of my life over these 16 years.

But to all who have helped out at events and sessions we have run, Thank you.

To those who have welcomed myself and my ideas, Thank You.

To the families who have come along and made my job so easy and joyful, Thank You.

To those who have prayed and encouraged, Thank You.

To those who have stood alongside me for all these years, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

What Next?

In this time of upheaval and turmoil through out the world it is hard to see what will come next. But for me, a little time to reflect on all that has been and a move into something different is expected.

I'm not moving away so please, if you see me out and about, come and say hello and tell me how the kids are getting on. I will miss you all and will definitely miss the joy of seeing the children grow. (Sorry if I forget your names though)

God Bless you all x

Light Of The World

Light Of The World You are maybe familiar with Jesus being called Light of the World, particularly at this time of year as we approach Halloween and Christmas. He brings hope and love from God to the people of the world and shows them the way back to a relationship with the Father. But here it is Jesus teaching the disciples and people that they are light to the world as well. If you have something special and important you want to show people, not hide it away. We have a hope that God cares about the world and about each of us and we should be ready to share that hope. No Hiding It should be obvious in your every day life that you are a follower of Jesus. If you are a Christian and no-one knows then you aren't sharing the gospel and good news. That sharing doesn't always involve words but can be shown in your actions and attitudes. You should stand out from the crowd by the love and care you exhibit. Maybe you choose to walk away and not join in the gossip, or you stand alongs...

Hope to hang on to

What is hope? The dictionaries say that Hope is a feeling and expectation that a particular thing is going to happen. Sometimes hope is assured and sometimes unlikely.  Maybe, you hope your favourite team will win a match. That can be likely to happen or you could be rather optimistic!  An older definition includes the idea of trust as well. So what is the hope that we have as Christians? Firstly, that if God has promised it, it will happen. We see God's promises in the bible in stories like Noah, Abraham and Joseph. Their lives included promises for the future, some of which we see come true in their lives and the lives of their families.                                                     🚢                 ✰                🌈 But our biggest Hope is rooted in Jes...

What's in a name?

Colouring Sheet Why does Jesus have lots of names? The colouring sheet shows just a few of the names Jesus is known as. There are lots of names in the bible that are given to God or Jesus. Why? What is wrong with just having one name? Well, think about yourself. You might think you only have one name but actually you will have more than you realise.  Are you a son or daughter?  Or a husband or wife or partner?  Maybe you use a slightly different name at work than you do at home? Do your friends have a nickname for you?  These names tell us something about you and Jesus and God's names tell us about them. How do we use these names? Some of the bible names are only used once or twice, some are used repeatedly. The story you find them in will help explain why the name was used and that can help us realise when we should use them. An example would be to use Bread of Life during communion as this helps us to think about the name and the service. I find it helpful to think...
